Police: Teacher’s aide sent inappropriate texts to girl
A Marion County teacher’s aide is out of jail after he was accused of sending inappropriate messages to a juvenile.
Fifty-eight-year-old Christopher Votos was a teacher’s aide at Fort King Middle School.
He was suspended from his job once the allegation surfaced.
An Ocala Police detective interviewed the 15-year-old who said she had been texting Votos since last year. She also said Votos bought her MP3 players, clothing and food during their friendship, which he admitted to.
The minor also said they kissed and texted each other. In one of the messages, the two were supposed to meet for sex, but never did.
Regarding that text, Votos said he played along because he wanted to see who was behind the text.
Votos was booked into the Marion County Jail Friday, Sept. 6.
He was released early Saturday morning on $5,000 bond.
